To participate in this event, your challenge will be to live each minute of that day in as nonviolent and peaceful a way as possible. In other words, for a full 24-hour period you should do your best to put on a smile in your face and live in harmony with others and avoid causing harm. After the experience, please analysis of what the day was like in this discussion, including but not limited:
•1. How did others respond to your smiling? Do you think they noticed a difference in your behavior?
•2. What are the psychological costs and benefits of smiling? In your view, do the benefits outweigh the costs?
•3. If you wanted to encourage others to behave as you did during the Day of Smiling, what psychological techniques would you use?

Topic: discussion paper

Paper details:
Compose a two page, double-spaced essay, describing what you learned from this class about your own development. Meaning, how have you (i.e., your ideas, feelings, behaviors, attitudes) changed, grown, flourished, developed. You could describe what you have learned about your own development from childhood until now, and/or you could describe what has chanced in these past 10 weeks. Make sure you are using concepts from the textbook so that your paper is an academic application of knowledge and an evaluation of your experiences in light of facts and theory, not just a personal opinion. When you use concepts include definitions for those terms in your own words.
